Bubble Tubing® transforms the power of fine bubbles into a high‑performance water management solution. By releasing thousands of tiny bubbles, from just 1 to 10 mm, it creates a dynamic upward flow that energizes the entire water column. This natural and efficient process oxygenates, mixes, and revitalizes aquatic environments while supporting demanding industrial and environmental applications.
1- Bubble Curtains: Used to create dynamic underwater barriers for sound attenuation, debris control, and environmental protection.
• Underwater Sound Attenuation: Bubble Tubing® creates dense walls of bubbles capable of blocking high and low-frequency noise generated during marine construction, reducing acoustic impacts on marine life and supporting regulatory compliance.
• Toxic Algae & Jellyfish Control: A uniform screen of fine bubbles acts as a deterrent barrier, limiting the intrusion of algae, plankton, and jellyfish within defined perimeters.
• Sediment & Silt Containment: When used as a retention curtain, Bubble Tubing® contains suspended sediments and debris during dredging or construction.
• Plastic Debris Interception: Bubble Tubing® has proven highly effective for intercepting plastics, including particles as small as 2 mm in rivers with slow currents, contributing to cleaner waterways and reduced downstream pollution.
2- Aeration: Bubble Tubing® solutions use bubbles to boost oxygen levels, enhance circulation, and elevate overall water quality, providing reliable performance in lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and wastewater systems.
• Wastewater Treatment: Bubble Tubing® improves oxygen transfer efficiency and supports biological activity, making it well‑suited for sewage lagoons, industrial treatment processes, and leachate ponds.
• Water Reservoirs: Bubble Tubing® aeration helps prevent cold‑water pollution by promoting gentle, controlled mixing that stabilizes temperature layers and improves overall water quality. By delivering oxygen deep into the water column near dam outlets, it helps ensure that oxygen‑poor water is not discharged downstream.

3- De-icing
The OctoAir‑10 and OctoAir‑60 diffusers are engineered for reliable industrial and municipal de‑icing. Their robust design withstands corrosion, salinity, and extreme temperatures. These systems effectively prevent ice formation around docks, intakes, pumping stations, marinas, and infrastructure, ensuring safe, uninterrupted operation even in harsh winter environments.

4- Circulation Upwelling
OctoAir and SalmoAir® diffusers generate vertical water movements that help provide uniform oxygen distribution throughout the water column. This enhanced circulation helps reduce thermal stratification and helps maintain stable water quality in tanks, drinking water reservoirs and aquaculture systems.

Materials & Construction
Bubble Tubing® is manufactured in Canada from high-grade flexible PVC, formulated to resist UV exposure, salinity, corrosion and pH variation. The tubing’s outer wall features precision microperforations along both sides, producing a continuous curtain of fine bubbles that rise evenly through the water column.
Weighted models (¾”, 1” & 1 ¼”) include an integrated stainless-steel cable for ballast and reinforcement, ensuring the tubing can remain securely positioned on the bottom. All formats are free of moving parts below the waterline, making them low-maintenance and highly durable in long-term installations.
Available Dimensions
• 4 dimensions (I.D.): ½” (12.7 mm), ¾” (19.05 mm), 1” (25.4 mm), 1¼” (31.75 mm)
• 3 options: weighted, non-weighted or cabled
• Lengths: available in standard rolls or custom‑cut

Bubble Tubing® and its diffusers have been validated through independent testing and real-world applications across multiple industries. Third-party studies and technical reports are available upon request for clients requiring specific documentation.
Validation Overview:
• Upwelling Applications – C-CORE
Tests on CanadianPond.ca upwelling systems showed strong performance, lowering surface temperatures from 21°C to 7–9°C while achieving exceptional upwelling rates with SalmoAir® and OctoAir-60, moving up to 400 times the volume of water per unit of air. SalmoAir® also delivered 70% energy savings, and both systems significantly increased dissolved oxygen levels.

• Debris and Organism Deflection – C-CORE
Tests concluded that Bubble Tubing® is an effective solution for jellyfish deflection. The design of the bubble curtain—including airflow rate, number of curtains, and spacing between curtains—is critical for maximizing deflection efficiency.

• De-icing and Flow Modeling – C-CORE
Validated Bubble Tubing® systems through CFD simulations and laboratory/field testing, confirming effective de-icing performance and ice prevention. The validated models showed over 90% accuracy and can be used to predict ice melt rates and ice opening.

• Sound Attenuation – GKM Consultants
Measured the ability of a bubble curtain to reduce underwater noise from pile driving, dredging, drilling, or blasting, showing that Bubble Tubing® can attenuate sound by 20–80 dB across the full frequency spectrum.

• Aeration Performance – GSEE Inc.
Oxygen transfer rates (SOTR and SOTE) were measured on Bubble Tubing®, OctoAir-10, and OctoAir-60 at depths of 5 to 20 ft using standardized testing. The results showed that Bubble Tubing® technology delivers excellent performance and achieves some of the highest oxygen transfer rates observed.
These tests represent our own investment in understanding key challenges and opportunities, but universities and clients also regularly conduct studies using Bubble Tubing®. Check out this independent study by Marshall Day Acoustics, showing how a bubble curtain can significantly reduce underwater noise from pile driving. The full study is available here.

Here are a few examples from our case studies that showcase how our solutions can make a real-world impact.
City of Paris – Bubble Curtain Against Plastic Debris

To prepare for the 2024 Summer Olympics, the first permanent bubble curtain in France was installed in the Canal de L’Ourcq using Bubble Tubing®. Designed to intercept plastic waste, it supports the city’s sustainability goals by protecting waterways and reducing pollution. Learn more here.
Menominee River – Protection From High Underwater Pressure, Noises and Vibrations

Underwater blasting for marine construction poses risks such as high pressure, intense noise, and vibrations that can harm marine life and nearby structures. To mitigate these impacts, a custom Bubble Tubing® bubble curtain system was installed, creating a barrier that significantly reduced underwater pressure from 295 PSI to as low as 5.9 PSI and attenuated shock waves. This solution allowed safe blasting operations without environmental damage, meeting regulatory requirements and protecting marine ecosystems.
